Cinema Screening: El Mamar (2019)
As part of its cultural enrichment activities in 2019, Awladna Foundation for the Arts of People with Special Needs arranged a special screening of the critically acclaimed Egyptian film El Mamar (The Passage). This war drama, which depicts the heroism of the Egyptian army during the War of Attrition, was shown to an audience of children and young people with special needs in an inclusive and accessible environment.
The screening aimed not only to entertain but also to instill a sense of national pride, courage, and historical awareness. Following the film, a moderated discussion was held, allowing the participants to share their thoughts and feelings about the storyline, characters, and the values portrayed—such as bravery, unity, and perseverance.
This cultural event was one of many initiatives by the foundation to provide people with special needs access to meaningful artistic and national experiences, ensuring their full participation in Egypt’s rich cultural life.
